Diya’s heritage has long roots stretching to the first restaurants started by the family in 1958 in the eastern port city of Kolkata.
These restaurants continue their famous tradition on Park Street in Kolkata and now in Japan for several years.A former capital of the British Empire in India, Kolkata’s geographical position on the Bay of Bengal served as a magnet for traders, pilgrims and diplomats from around the world who brought in with them, a diverse set of gastronomic influences.
